Spring Updates

Still not much time for updates, but trying to keep up! Things will slow down soon (or at least it better...I'm counting on it)... Just a couple of new pictures to highlight what we've been up to...

We enjoyed the Ray LaMontange show in Asheville last night. He was awesome and while I tried to respect the "no camera" rule, I had to get just one. As you can see, it's totally screwed up but I think it still looks pretty cool...

In mid-March we headed over to Knoxville for Michael's birthday party...De and Za have traditionally attended (and if you know De, you know that he starts planning this event at least one month in advance). Here, Michael enjoys pizza with his "cousins" as he calls them. Of course, they love it!

This may seem like an odd picture, but if you've ever been to the old Mars Hill Ingle's, you know how exciting this is for us! Actually, we're on our way in just a minute!

Just one of the many amazing mornings we've had lately...

Oh, and our new addition...Enzo. He's been a blast and I can't imagine what we'd all do without him. Boo and Tyrone have enjoyed mentoring him, Bella is obsessed with him and Coco is scared. Interesting, since Coco scares just about everybody, yet cowers at the sight of a kitten.

Enzo finds a comfy spot to catch a nap...

De's 11th birthday party with his Aunt Mignon. The thing to note about this picture is that he's actually wearing clothes that fit him...and he looks good! As his mom said, "he's not all thugged out today."

And last but not least, as most people know, I have an etsy.com addiction. I recently found these amazing little birds from Lewa's Designs (http://www.lewasdesigns.com or http://www.lewasdesigns.etsy.com ). They're super cool and have been a cool addition to our dining room! Just had to show off :)...

Okay, we're off. Headed to the farmers market, to the NEW Ingles and then to the nursery...gonna take care of the garden/flower beds today :)...

Just a few updates....

Well, life has gotten a little busy as of late...hence the lack of regular posts ;). I am teaching three nights a week at Mars Hill College in the Social Work Dept. I'm filling in for a professor who is on sabbatical to finish her doctoral thesis. It's been an awesome experience so far...lots of new learning (personally and professionally) ...I am already counting the days until the end of the semester! Marcus is taking a class right now, so having me out of his hair for a few nights a week gives him a chance to get his homework done! He's also busy chairing the Board of DANN. And, as usual, some photo updates:

Inauguration Day! We lucked in to a snow day, so we watched from the bed...in out with mimosas and totini's pizza!

Sherman finally came home...she looks so cute as she works on ripping the arm off of her toy man.
In case you wondered what Montana thinks about Sherman...no, not really! She loves her and is 100% tolerant, to say the least!

Sherman is a little feisty and on occasion takes on more than she can chew. She enjoys wrestling with Bella...

We spent last weekend in Clemson celebrating my dad's birthday with the family. Michael baked a cake with Grandma and he and I iced it together. He "accidentally" got some on his finger and had to lick it off.

Here he's telling my dad about the nuts on one side and the sprinkles on other. Any guesses as to who the sprinkles are for?

While in Clemson we also enjoyed several games of "tag"...luckily there were 6 adults who could take turns chasing Michael. Marcus then played good uncle and blew bubbles in an attempt to suck the rest of the energy out of Michael (must have been the sprinkles).

Sue's Birthday Weekend

On Friday night, we celebrated Sue's Birthday with a surprise visit from my parents and a trip to the Orange Peel to see Steep Canyon Rangers.

Sue & Al

Terri & Mike

On Sunday we took a trip out to Rob & John's to visit baby Sherman (Sue's puppy). She and her litter mates are quite a wild bunch these days. As you can see below, we were in dangerous territory...almost committing to taking a puppy ourselves. No more visits for us...we have no business with a puppy right now!

Marcus is out skiing today and I'm at home working on planning the classes for this week and next. Nothing too exciting, except that it's snowing outside, it's Monday and I'm still in my jammies! Not for long though...gonna go workout now.

Mike turned 30...wooohooo. Life begins.

We took Michael ice skating. Jenny did most of the work....
I tried to help, but you've never seen me on ice skates.

6 months since the wedding...and we're still smiling :).

That's what Benjamin thinks of you!

Ah, the little camera ham...it doesn't take long.

Holidays 2008 e-card

I haven't been so good at keeping this bad boy updated lately...and I don't see it getting any better. We've been super busy and I've taken on a temporary position teaching 3 social work classes at Mars Hill College next semester...so work and prepping for that are taking up all of my time! In any case, here's our e-card (try to save: trees, postage, ink, time, money...):

I'll try to at least get the funny stories and pics up on occasion! :), Dawn

Thanksgiving Weekend with the Mendonskils

We started the weekend off by heading to Knoxville to hang out with my brother's family and my parents...we ate yummy food all day long and watched plenty of football inter-mixed with cartoons. Benjamin is army-crawling all of the place and Michael loves to play jokes on everyone! We went to the annual Festival of Trees and the boys got to see Santa...Benjamin was not so sure about that bearded guy.

Mike and Jenny and the boys got to ride the Carousal while the rest of us tried our best to get a good picture of them...as they went around in a circle...I'm sure we were fun to watch.

The best part was that my Mom, Michael and I got to ride on the "spinny thing"...it actually was a lot of fun...we all practiced "no hands" while trying to spin ourselves as fast as we could. I'm glad I wasn't the one taking the pictures :).

Friday we headed back to Asheville to get the girls so that Al and Sue could have some peace before hosting the whole family for Thanksgiving II on Saturday evening. We met LeeAnn, Dorsey and Libby out for the evening. Dorsey and Marcus enjoyed Patron shots...which I was blamed for the next morning! We headed to Barley's with Libby and enjoyed another yummy Cold Mountain.

On Saturday, after Marcus was feeling better from the shots, we bought our Christmas tree...the first in the new house since we didn't have time to get one last year! My parents headed over and we all had a great time with the Meskil/Pedler clan...yummy food again....the best lemon meringue pie I've ever had!!!

We spent Sunday lounging around the house and here we are at Monday again!
